Journey House Holiday Adoption Program
Help parents and guardians who work hard but sometimes struggle to make ends meet
Journey House serves families in some of Milwaukee's most challenging neighborhoods. Ambitious and engaged parents/guardians take advantage of our services by signing up their children to participate in our programs, or they participate in our Adult Education and Community programs themselves. When the holidays come around, sometimes these parents/guardians struggle to provide gifts for their children. Your donation makes for a positive experience during the holiday season. We will try to match you with a family that is perfect for you. Thank you for your interest, and we hope we will continue to have your support for years to come!

So many details are needed in order to empower a family to move out of poverty. Your contributions go a long way to making our work possible! The following lists provide our greatest needs. If you have any item that does not appear on the list but still believe it would be helpful, please reach out to us! All donations to Journey House are 100% tax deductible. If you are able to fulfill any of these requests, please contact Cherise Myers at [email protected] or by calling 414-647-0548 x104.
GREATEST NEED
1. A 16-passenger van. To transport participants to and from community service opportunities, off-site trainings and workshops, and other special events.
2. iPads or other tablet computers (up to 3). To increase participants' capacity to navigate this technology, increase staff capacity to accomplish tasks "on-the-go", and to facilitate pre- and post-event tasks.
3. New or gently used professional clothing (for men and women). In addition to our financial coaching and job readiness training, our Urban Career Institute participants, including our Neighborhood Ambassadors, benefit from having the appropriate attire when they interview for a new job. All sizes are needed.
