Coordinator of THRIVE Construction and Design Academy
& Girls Let’s Build Programs
Position Overview: Journey House is committed to providing community members with high-quality THRIVE Construction and Design experiences with professional and passionate staff. The Coordinator of THRIVE Construction and Design Academy & Girls Let’s Build provides direct instructional support and services to low to moderate-income individuals who are enrolled in the Construction and Design Academy & Girls Let’s Build, which is part of the THRIVE (Transforming Healthy Reliable Inspired Valued Employable) Career Interns Program and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) initiatives. This position will include construction and design instruction and supervision of the related, age-appropriate construction and design projects and initiatives to middle school, high school, and out-of-school youth. The THRIVE Construction and Design Academy & Girls Let’s Build Coordinator will work closely with Journey House THRIVE and STEAM team members utilizing evaluation and data as part of educational and recreational interests. Strong communication skills and resourcefulness are essential for this position.

​Primary Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, primarily after school hours. The hours may vary depending on the duties associated with the position, which may include occasional evenings and weekends.
•
Instructional time for the Construction and Design Academy during the academic year is on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. During the summer, the interns participate in a six-to-eight-week intensive of 20 hours per week. The primary age group for students is high schoolers and young adults.
•
During the academic year, Girls Let's Build's instructional time is on Wednesdays from 3 PM to 5 PM. The primary age group is middle school female students.
