Community School Coordinator
SUMMARY
The Milwaukee Community Schools Partnership is currently looking for two individuals to work in partnership with United Way, Milwaukee Public Schools, Milwaukee Teachers’ Education Association and a community-based organization as a Community School Coordinator! Each position will be hired through a community-based organization and work to support the Community School model at one school through family & community engagement, developing communication & coordinating systems, and recruiting & managing partnerships & strategies around school goals. Currently, the open positions are for Longfellow Community School via Journey House, and Auer Avenue via the Milwaukee Urban League. 

The position is funded through grants and contracts and reviewed for renewal annually. Position will have multiple evening and weekend responsibilities, including a potential nontraditional schedule with hours as early as 7am or late as 7pm. Final schedule to be determined based on designated partner school needs.

Bookkeeper

Under the direction of the Controller, the Bookkeeper performs basic bookkeeping/accounting duties in an accurate and timely manner. The incumbent will perform such duties in a way that assures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, 
Other duties may be assigned in line with individual’s experiences and qualifications.

• Prepare payroll journal entries.
• Process bank deposits.
• Process accounts payable and receivables.
• Assist in preparation of monthly cost reports.
• Assist with year-end audit.
• Manage invoices and purchase orders to ensure payments are made in a timely manner.
• Assist Controller with financial reports and any other duties as assigned.
• Attend Yes! And Community Building mandated staff trainings.
• Attend and participate in Journey House staff, and team meetings and all special events.

Journey House hires part-time employees to work with our Milwaukee Public Schools' (MPS) Community Learning Centers (CLC) for After School Programs during the academic year (September through May) and Summer Camps during June and July.  Staff who demonstrate the capacity to meet and exceed expectations of CLC Program Staff are often invited to work at Summer Camps, and vice versa.  Applications are accepted during the following times:
