THRIVE Workforce Development — Transforming, Healthy, Reliable, Inspiring, Valued, Employable — is Journey House’s high-performance training program that prepares adults for careers in banking, hotel hospitality, and Medical Assistant training in partnership with Employ Milwaukee and supports youth career exposure through the Construction & Design Academy.
THRIVE helps participants build the skills, confidence, and support needed to enter career pathways, improve financial stability, and access sustainable employment.

• Upskilling and pre-screening for careers in banking, hotel hospitality, and Medical Assistant - training in partnership with Employ Milwaukee

• Workplace reading and math support
• Digital literacy training
• Medical Assistant career pathway support
• Banking career pathway support
• Hotel Hospitality career pathway support

Monthly Training Schedule
Participants complete the following steps at Journey House:
1. Information and Registration / TABE Reading and Math Assessment
Completed at Journey House. Estimated time: 3–4 hours.
2. Orientation
Estimated time: 3 hours. Participants complete intake, review policies and procedures, complete DocuSign forms, review the
training schedule, add key dates to their calendar, complete a resilience assessment, and register for SKY Breathing Meditation.
3. SKY Breathing Meditation
Participants complete 3 consecutive days of training. Estimated time: 7.5 hours. SKY teaches strategies to reduce stress and
increase personal and professional productivity. Participants receive an international certificate.
4. Resume and Cover Letter Preparation
5. Technology and Digital Literacy Training
Completed at the participant’s own pace through Fundaula Accenture’s accredited online learning platform, with opportunities to
earn national certifications.
6. Employability Skills Training
Participants complete 9 days of employability skills focused on workplace readiness, career planning, financial stability, and job
success.

Financial & Bridges to Career Opportunity Center
Journey House’s Financial and Bridges to Career Opportunity Center provides one-on-one coaching to help adults increase income, reduce expenses, improve credit, build assets, and obtain sustainable employment.
Who Is Eligible?
• Be 18 years and beyond at program entry
• Have a high school diploma, GED, or HSED
• Be unemployed, underemployed, or an incumbent worker (making less than $21/hour)
• Be able to communicate effectively in English, including reading, speaking, and writing
• Understand that all training, coursework, assessments, and program materials are delivered in English
• Be able to work in the USA
What Happens?
Participants work with financial and career coaches to improve net income, net worth, credit scores, and employment outcomes.
Services Include
Career Coaching
Participants explore skills, interests, and career goals; receive support with resumes and applications; and strengthen job search, networking, and interview skills.
Financial Coaching and Education
Participants develop money management skills, understand credit, build positive credit history, review credit reports, and create financial habits that support long-term stability.
Income Supports Coaching
Participants complete income support screenings and receive assistance applying for eligible benefits.
SKY Breathing Meditation
Follow-up ensures correct breathing techniques and maximizes benefits like reduced stress, improved sleep, and greater well-being.
